How it works

A plant wall
that takes care of itself.

The Living Plant Display is a compact living plant wall with a manual watering system and a 2-litre water reservoir — the plants stay healthy for up to 2 weeks on their own. Here's exactly how it works.

The watering principle

Capillary action — nature as the pump

No electricity. No technology. No maintenance. Just physics that has been working in every plant for millions of years.

Living Plant Display with 2-litre water reservoir — the invisible gardener

Like an invisible gardener that never sleeps.

The 2-litre water reservoir sits at the bottom of the planter. You fill it once — then forget about it for up to 2 weeks.

What happens next is capillary action: the Greentexx growing fabric draws the water upward from below — exactly as much as the plants need. No more, no less. Each plant drinks on its own, when it's thirsty.

The result: no overwatering — the most common mistake in plant care. No drying out — not even when you're on holiday. Just healthy plants that grow day by day.

  • 2-litre water reservoir — supplies 4 to 6 plants for up to 14 days
  • Manual system — no electricity, no Wi-Fi, no service contract
  • Greentexx growing fabric — breathable and moisture-regulating
Installation in 3 steps

As easy as a picture frame.

Material & quality

What's really inside your display.

Every Living Plant Display is assembled by hand in Hamburg — from materials we have deliberately selected for longevity and plant health.

Fiberstone frame

High-quality composite of stone powder and polyester resin. Lightweight, frost-resistant, UV-stable — and visually and tactilely indistinguishable from natural stone. Available in white, grey, and black.

Greentexx growing fabric

Specialist fabric for vertical greening. Breathable, moisture-regulating, root-friendly. Holds the plants in place while letting roots and water circulate evenly.

Z-shape mounting rail

Sturdy metal rail with a precise Z-profile. For the Ø 50 cm size, two rails provide maximum stability; the Ø 40 cm uses one rail. Together they safely carry the roughly 9 kg of the filled display — and can be removed at any time.

Real plants from Europe

Curated and planted, ready to enjoy. No artificial plants, no stabilised mosses. Per display, 4 (Ø 40 cm) or 6 (Ø 50 cm) selected indoor plants — chosen to suit location and light conditions.

Frequently asked

What customers often ask us.

Everything you should know before your Living Plant Display arrives.

How often do I need to refill the water?
Typically every 10 to 14 days. The 2-litre water reservoir lasts up to 2 weeks — depending on location, room temperature, and plant species.
What happens when I go on holiday?
With a fully filled water reservoir, your display easily handles two weeks unattended. For longer trips we recommend a fresh top-up just before you leave — that gets you up to three weeks without any concern.
Do I need a green thumb?
No. That's exactly the idea. The plants water themselves via capillary action — you can't overwater anything, and nothing dries out. We also only select plants that reliably thrive indoors.
What tools do I need for installation?
A drill and a screwdriver. That's it. We include the drilling template, screws, and wall plugs. For masonry walls, we recommend a masonry bit — for plasterboard, standard heavy-duty plugs.
Where can I hang the display?

Anywhere indoors with sufficient daylight — direct or indirect. Avoid direct heater airflow and harsh midday sun.

Do I need electricity or a water connection?
No. The Living Plant Display is a fully manual system. No pump, no hose, no power outlet, no Wi-Fi. Just fill in water — physics does the rest.
What happens if a plant dies?
Individual plants can easily be replaced — we supply replacement plants on request. For business customers, we also offer care contracts with regular on-site check-ups.
Can the display be moved later?
Yes. Simply lift it off the rail — like a picture frame. Mount a second rail in the new location, hang the display, done. Relocating is no problem.
